Every patient journey at Solace starts with a short physician visit. This isn’t a checkup, a second opinion, or a replacement for your current doctor. It’s a one-on-one conversation to determine whether advocacy is right for you, help you choose the right advocate, and schedule your first session.
If you’re wondering what this visit is like and how it leads to one-on-one support from an advocate, this guide will walk you through it.

What To Expect During Your First Solace Appointment
Your first appointment is a quick intake visit with a Solace physician. It usually lasts about 20 minutes. (When you schedule your first Solace appointment, we confirm your insurance coverage as part of that same process. You’ll know you’re covered before the visit begins.)
During your appointment, you’ll:
- Talk about your current healthcare challenges and goals
- Choose an advocate based on your specific needs
- Book your first advocate appointment if you’re ready
There’s no physical exam, and you don’t need to change your current doctor. This visit is about understanding your needs and getting you the right support.
What You'll Discuss With Your Solace Physician
This appointment is designed to be simple and focused on what matters most to you. Your physician will ask a few questions to understand where you’re running into problems.
You might talk about:
- Current care status: Any doctors you’re seeing now, upcoming appointments, or care you’ve been trying to get
- Barriers and delays: Insurance denials, long wait times, missing records, or trouble coordinating between providers
- Your goals: Finding the right doctors, overcoming treatment delays, getting insurance approvals, and anything else that could improve your care
You don’t need to bring any notes or paperwork to this appointment. Your physician will keep the conversation focused on what feels most important to you. If you just need space to talk about what’s been hard, that’s okay too.
What Happens After Your Physician Appointment
Next, you’ll meet your dedicated advocate and make a plan to get the care you need. Your advocate supports you one-on-one for as long as you need—staying in touch, guiding your care, and working to improve your quality of life.
- If you already have a physician visit scheduled, we’ll email and text the details ahead of the appointment, including when and how to join.
- If you don’t have a visit scheduled yet, you can check your eligibility and choose a time that works for you here.
You don’t have to face healthcare alone anymore. This is where you start getting the support you’ve been missing.
